The Golden Ball Inn, Lower Swell was built in the 17th century and has been a pub for over 100 years. The Golden Ball Inn sits in the picturesque village of Lower Swell, close to the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold in the North Cotswolds an Area of Outstanding Beauty. Lower Swell is a small but thriving community which works hard to maintain the important elements of village life.

The Golden Ball Inn is part of the Donnington Brewery which is situated only a few miles away in the village of Donnington where the famous ales of BB and SBA are still brewed in the traditional way. The Golden Ball Inn prides itself on being a traditional village pub for everybody from near and far. In the summer you can take advantage of the garden and decking with fantastic views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. You may even catch a game of 'Aunt Sally' being played out in the garden on a summer's evening. Whilst in the winter you can sit by one of our log fires and enjoy a drink or two.

We are a family run business, John & Ania and their daughter Aoife welcome you to enjoy the traditional atmosphere of a ‘proper village pub’. John is a professional chef, and cooks all the hone-cooked food in our kitchen here at the pub. The menu aims to be a traditional pub menu with dishes to suit all tastes. Wherever possible we aim to use local suppliers to both reduce food miles and support local businesses.

WelliesWe are family friendly, and welcome children. There is something for everyone in the surrounding area. The famous villages of Bourton-on-the-Water and The Slaughters are close by and Adam Henson from BBC's Countryfile has his Cotswold Farm Park just up the road.
